resiliency, cracks, breaks, and cuts.
Replace mount, bumper, grommet, or seal that
shows any of these defects.
(b) Inspect the battery box and cover for dents and cracks.
Remove dents, and
repair cracks.
(c) Inspect the battery box frame, clamps, retainer, and divider channel for
dents and cracks. Remove dents, and repair cracks. Replace parts damaged beyond
repair.
(d) Inspect the threaded parts of the battery box for burred
or
damaged
threads. Remove burrs. Replace parts that have damaged threads.
(e) Inspect the auxiliary power receptacle for frayed, broken, or cracked
insulation. Replace receptacle that shows any of these defects.
(f) Inspect the auxiliary power receptacle
for
burned
contacts.
Replace
receptacle if it shows burned contacts.
(g) Inspect the generator drive-belt adjusting linkage rod ends for elongation
of mounting bores. Replace rod end if defective.
(h) Inspect the generator drive-belt adjusting rod ends and turnbuckle for
burred or damaged threads.
(2) Instrument Panel Wiring Harness.
(a) Inspect the harness for frayed, broken, or cracked insulation.
If the
harness shows any one of these defects, intermediate direct support maintenance
should be notified.
(b) Check for damaged
connectors
or
terminals.
Replace
connectors
and
terminals if defective.
(3) Starting System.
(a) Inspect the starter gear for burrs on the teeth, and for teeth that are
worn beyond their original shape.
Remove burrs from the teeth.
Replace the
starter if the gear teeth have lost their original shape.
