Install the Engine Starter.

Prior to starting the actual

installation process, you first must identify the starter's

part number on the starter's identification place.

engine may have one of three different types of starters, as

identified by the part numbers:

1114673, 1114678, and

M0017414MA, MB, AND MC.

This lesson only describes the

process used to install the starter part number M0017414MA.

Be sure to check TM 9-2350-264-20-1 for the correct process

used to remove the wiring from starter you must remove.

Start this installation process by lubricating the packing (2)

and the bottom surface of the hub (1), installing the packing

in the groove on the hub, and inserting the gasket (3) over

the three studs (4) on the gearbox (5) (fig. 1-61).
