The removal and installation procedures of the crew AFES electrical wiring
harnesses are addressed first.
You will use the referenced figure and
procedures provided for the specific harness to accomplish this task.
Initial equipment set up requires the removal of the right and left
projectile racks and deactivation of the crew AFES. Racks are removed as
shown in TM 9-2350-267-20. Accomplish AFES deactivation as shown in Part C,
paragraph 2, of this subcourse text.
The first crew AFES wiring harness to be removed is wiring harness 12351498.
Use Figure 33 and the procedures shown below to perform this task.
o You must first disconnect the harness plug (Item 1) from the SCEA
unit (Item 2).
o Next, disconnect the harness plug (Item 3) from the crew T/A panel
(Item 4).
o You must now disconnect the harness plug (Item 5) from the connector
(Item 6) of harness 12351461.
o
The harness must now be removed from the strap assemblies (Item 7).
Accomplish this task by removing one screw (Item 8), one flat washer
(Item 9), and one lockwasher (Item 10) from each of the 24 strap
assemblies.
Separate and remove wiring harness 12351498 from the
other harnesses.
o The installation procedures are the reverse order of the removal
procedures.
process.
The second crew AFES wiring harness to be removed is wiring harness
12351499.
The initial set up requirements for this task have been
accomplished.
Use Figure 34 and the following procedures to perform this
task.
o First disconnect the harness plugs (Items 1, 2, 3 and 4) from the
four OFSA units (Items 5, 6; 7, and 8). Note that harness plugs 1
and 2 are located on the forward bulkhead of the crew compartment
and are connected to OFSA units 5 and 6. Harness plugs 3 and 4 are
located on the forward part of the crew compartment overhead and are
connected to OFSA units 7 and 8.
