WARNING
Turn the engine T/A panel MAINTenance switch to the
vertical position.
Turn the MASTER switch OFF.
Disconnect the battery ground cables before you
disconnect any of the relay cables.
o The upper relay (Item 1) will be the first relay to be removed. You
must first disconnect the plug (Item 2) from the upper relay, remove
two mounting screws (Item 4), and two lockwashers (Item 3). Discard
the removed lockwashers.
NOTE:
There are six wires connected to the middle relay and eight wires
are connected to the bottom relay.
o Remove the two lower relays (Items 9 and 10) from the mounting
plate, disconnect wires (Item 5) from terminals (Item 8), remove
four screws (Item 6) and four lockwashers (Item 7). Remove relays
from vehicle.

Correct any faults you may have discovered during the inspection of the
relay assemblies and perform the installation process of the engine AFES
relays.
