Installing the Forward Module on the
Maintenance Stand.
Install the Forward Module on the Rear Module.
Turn the
handle (3) on the maintenance stand clockwise to move the
dolly in until you have the forward module (1) close to the
shaft (4) and align the module with the shaft. Then continue
turning the handle clockwise until you have the forward module
close to the rear module (2), and align the pin (5) in the
forward module with the hole (6) in the rear module (2). When
you have the pin and the hole aligned, turn the handle
clockwise until the modules mate (fig. 1-5).
NOTE:
Tighten the bolts and nuts at the top, bottom, and each side
of the engine first, to seat the rear and forward modules.
After you have mated the two modules, apply antiseize compound
to the 81 bolts (7) and install them with new nuts (8). Then,
you must apply antiseize compound to the 15 studs (9), install
the 15 new nuts (10) on the studs,
