Install the rear module gasket (8) by applying shortening
compound to the gasket and inserting the gasket in the groove
(9) on the module (10) (fig. 1-2).
Install the elbow (16) in the forward module housing (17).
After you have installed the elbow, install a new flared
conical seal (18) on the forward module housing nipple (19),
install the tee (20) on the nipple, and tighten the nut (fig.
1-4).
NOTE:
You must have the transfer and forward module lifting slings
configured the same as when the module was removed from the
maintenance stand (TM 9-2835-255-34).

parts at all times.
Install the Lifting Slings on the Forward Module. To install
the lifting slings, remove the pin (12) from the shackle (7),
align the shackle with the hole in the block (13), and install
the pin in the shackle. Then install the sling hook (14) on
the forward module lifting pin (15) (fig. 1-4).
Install the Forward Module on the Maintenance Stand. Use the
hoist to move the forward module (1) under the maintenance
stand support (2) so you have the hoist hook (3) near the
chain-fall hook (4).
Then remove the forward module lifting
sling (5) from the hoist hook (3) and attach the module
lifting sling to the chain-fall hook (4). Next, you lower the
hoist hook until the transfer sling has some slack, and remove
the transfer sling hook (6) from the shackle (7) on the
forward module sling (8). Then, you remove the pin (9) from
the transfer sling's shackle (10) and the shackle from the
ring (11) on the forward module lifting sling, remove the
transfer sling, and stow it (fig. 1-4).
