Master Battery Switch Relay.
The first step in removing the
master battery switch relay is to place the FIRE SUPPRESSION switch
to the MANUAL position.
Once this has been accomplished, stow the
driver's seat and, if installed, squad seat number four.
Next,
remove the vehicle ground cable and the power control compartment
cover following the procedures outlined in paragraph 4a on page 5 of
this task.
CAUTION
The direction of the diode should be noted before
removal. The diode must be installed in the same
direction it was removed.
Now, remove nut (11) (figure 26 on the following page), lock washer
(12), washer (13), lead 1W1E5 (6), and the diode (14) from terminal
1A2K1X2 (8). Be sure to tag the leads as they are removed. Discard
the lock washer. Then remove nut (15), (figure 26) lock washer (16),
washer (17), lead 1W1E3 (7), and the diode (14) from terminal 1A2K1X1
(9). Again, be sure to tag the leads as they are removed. Discard
the lockwasher.
Next, remove the dust cap (5) (figure 27 on page 31), nut (6), lock
washer (7), washer (8), lead 1W1E4 (2), and lead 1W15E2 (1) from
terminal 1A2K1A1 (3). Discard the lock washer. Now remove the screw
(9) from the clamp (10).
Once the leads 1W1E4 and 1W15E2 have been removed, remove the dust
cap (14) (figure 28 on page 31), nut (15), lock washer (16), washer
(17), lead 1W3E1 (12), and jumper 1W33 (11) from terminal 1A2K1A2
(13) and tag lead. Discard the lock washer.
Finally, remove the two locknuts (19) (figure 29 on page 32), washers
(20), screws (21), and relay (4) from the support (18). Discard the
locknuts.
