Battery Simplified Test Equipment-M1/Fighting Vehicle System
(STE-M1/FVS) Shunt. To remove the battery STE-M1/FVS shunt, move the
FIRE SUPPRESSION switch to the MANUAL position.
Then stow the
driver's seat and, if installed, stow squad seat number four.
Now
remove the vehicle ground cable and the power control compartment
cover following the procedures outlined in paragraph 4a on page 5 of
this task.
If the winterization kit is installed, remove the battery compartment
heat exchanger assembly.
The procedures for removing the battery
compartment heat exchanger assembly can be found on page 30-106 of TM
9-2350-252-20-1-5. If the winterization kit is not installed, remove
lead 1W15E2 and lead 1W1E4 from terminal 1A2K1A1. First, remove the
dust cap (10) (figure 20), nut (11), lock washer (12), washer (13),
lead 1W1E4 (7) and lead 1W15E2 (6) from terminal 1A2K1A1 (8). Do not
discard the look washer, and be sure to tag the leads. Remove screw
(14) from clamp (15) and discard the screw.
