o Measure the resistance of the conveyor directional control valve solenoid
between connector A and ground socket B (Fig. 40). There must be a reading
of approximately 22 ohms; the reading must be the same between socket B and
socket C. If the readings are not 22 ohms, replace the directional control
valve. The next problem you will troubleshoot in the conveyor system is the
conveyor chain creeps.
o Shut down the hydraulic system, disconnect the hydraulic oil lines from the
conveyor motor, install a tee connector and pressure gage between the oil
line, and start the primary or backup hydraulic system (Fig. 31).
Set the
conveyor switch to the OFF position and the pressure gage should indicate 0
psi.
If pressure is indicated, replace the conveyor directional control
valve.
