Maintenance Stand and Forward Dolly.
Install the Forward Engine Module Lifting Sling (2).
Install the
shackle (1) in the second hole (6) from the short cable (7) to
ensure the correct center of balance when removing the module. Then
you attach the hoist hook (3) to the shackle attached to the sling.
With the sling correctly attached to the hoist, aline it with the
module (4) (fig. 1-58).
Remove the pin (8) from the shackle (9) on the short cable, aline
the shackle with the block (10) on the module, and install the pin
in the shackle. Then you install the hook on the sling (11) to the
pin on the module (12) and take the slack out of the sling (fig.
1-58).
Prepare the Forward Engine Module for Removal.
With the lifting
sling correctly installed, you can remove the two jack bolts (6)
from the forward module (8) and lower the jack stand (7).
Then
remove the three bolts (9) that secure the valve and adapter
assembly (10), the valve and adapter assembly, and the V-seal gasket
(11) (fig. 1-57).
