Engine Starters.
Next remove the nut (12) and lockwasher (13) from terminal 3L101-1
(4), lift the terminal lug 3W108-E1 (14) off terminal 3L101-4 (4),
and push the lug (14) away from the solenoid (11).
CAUTION
CAREFULLY LIFT OUT THE STARTER.
OTHER PARTS CAN BE
DAMAGED IF THE STARTER HITS THEM.
NOTE:
Do not remove the two self-locking nuts (15) (fig. 1-4).
After you have taken off the starter's electrical wiring (1), remove
the starter by loosening the three nuts (15) from the body hub (16)
just enough so you can turn the starter counterclockwise (fig. 1-4).
Then, turn the starter (1) counterclockwise until it stops, lift it
up and out of the powerpack, and remove the packing (2) from the
groove in the hub (3) (fig. 1-5).
