M2/M3 BFV: TROUBLESHOOTING - OD1610 - LESSON 2/TASK 1
From this section, SGT Cordoba finds that he will need one 45T10 assistant
and
TMs
9-2350-252-10-1
and
9-2350-252-10-2.
To
perform
these
troubleshooting procedures, the vehicle should be parked with the engine
stopped, the turret should be shut down, and the weapons unloaded and safe.
When the necessary assistance and the required TMs have been obtained and
the vehicle is configured according to the procedures cited in the TM, SGT
Cordoba begins the first step in the troubleshooting procedure by closing
and securing the driver's hatch cover and the cargo hatch cover. After the
two hatch covers are closed and secured, SGT Cordoba places the MASTER POWER
switch to the ON position and then manually elevates the gun to +100 mils.
Once the gun is elevated, he places the TURRET POWER switch to the ON
position.
Next, he removes the 25mm gun guard and opens the gun cover,
following the procedures contained on page 2-169 of TM 9-2350-252-10-2.
After the gun guard has been removed and the gun cover is open, he places
the MANUAL SAFE handle (3) (figure 19) to the SAFE position.
Next, he
ensures that the gun bolt position indicator is at the SEAR position. Now
SGT Cordoba moves the ARM-SAFE-RESET
