(2) Procedural Steps for Removing the Steering Shaft Assembly.
NOTE
Locknuts, lockwashers, and cotter
pins
should
always discarded after removal.
Step 1.
Lower and secure trim vane, and then open and secure the
power unit access door.
Step 2.
Remove access cover (1) from the hull by removing four
screws (2) and washers (3) from access cover (1).
Then, pry off
access cover (1) and remove from the hull (see figure 15).
Step 3. Remove Jack 1W32J1 (4) from switch assembly plug P1 (5)(see
figure 16 on the following page).
