MAINTENANCE OF THE M113 PER CARRIER - OD1601 LESSON 2/TASK 2
If the brake assembly is not defective, proceed to step 4.
Step 4.
Check for warped disk.
If the disk is defective, replace it (TM, para 2-238).
If the disk is not defective, proceed to step 5.
Step 5.
If the hydraulic master cylinder is defective, replace it (TM, para 2-236).
If the hydraulic master cylinder is not defective, this concludes unit maintenance
troubleshooting for this malfunction.
c. Troubleshooting the Electrical System - Unit Level of Maintenance.
Section
VI., of chapter 2, TM 9-2300-257-20 contains detailed troubleshooting information
for locating and correcting malfunctions in the electrical system.
Each of the
functional systems is treated within its own paragraph which contains: a physical
and functional description; an illustration to locate circuits, circuit components,
and disconnect points; and step-by-step tests to diagnose trouble using authorized
test equipment.
(1) Pages 2-54 through 2-56 list all of the M113 carrier electrical circuit
numbers.
Pages 2-60 through 2-93 contain the tests to be performed to uncover
malfunctions which could occur to various electrical system components.
To
successfully troubleshoot the electrical system, analyze the system circuits as
follows:
(a) Attempt to isolate the functional system in which the malfunction occurs.
(b) Isolate the circuit within the functional system which is malfunctioning.
(c) Isolate the individual components within the circuit which is causing the
malfunction.
