If the fuel is being restricted, the line is replaced.
If the fuel flows properly
through the line, proceed to step 7.
Step 7.
If the element is restricted, replace the element.
If the element is not restricted, proceed to step 8.
Step 8.
Check for possible internal engine malfunctions.
If the engine has an internal malfunction, support maintenance personnel will be
notified.
If the internal components of the engine are functioning properly, proceed to step
9.
Step 9.
With the fuel cutoff control pulled out and the air inlet hose removed,
check the operation of the blower.
If the blower fails to operate, intermediate direct support personnel will be
notified.
If the blower works, this would conclude unit maintenance troubleshooting for this
malfunction.
(2) Fuel System - Problem:
FUEL CONSUMPTION EXCESSIVE.
(a) Find the name of the system that is malfunctioning.
For this example, the name of the system is the "Fuel System," which would
be found on TM page 2-42, of table 2-5.
(b) Find the problem with the system.
The problem to be corrected in this example
is,
FUEL
CONSUMPTION
EXCESSIVE, which would be found on TM page 2-43.
Step 1.
Check for leaking fuel lines, fuel pump, strainer and filter, and fuel
cell.
If the fuel lines are loose, tighten the lines or connections and replace fuel line
gaskets if necessary.
