accessory gearbox by turning the handle (6) counterclockwise

until you have the dolly (7) all the way forward on the

maintenance stand (8). Then, you remove the four lockpins (9)

from the holes (10) or bushings (11) on both sides of the

forward module (4) and remove the retaining pins (3) (fig.

1-27).

Remove the gearshaft (12) from the accessory gearbox, coat the

splines (13) with oil, and install the gearshaft back in the

gearbox drive splines (14).

Then, you must apply shortening

compound on the new packing (15) and install it in the grooves

(16) (fig. 1-27).

CAUTION

TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE PLUG (17), MAKE SURE THE

PLUG DOES NOT HIT OR REST ON THE FRONT PLATE (18)

OF THE MAINTENANCE STAND (8) (FIGURE 1-27).

Using the hoist, position the accessory gearbox (5) on the

dolly (19) so you have the chain-hoist hook (20) near the

hoist hook (2) (fig. 1-27).
