Installing the Accessory Gearbox.
The accessory gearbox installation procedures described below require
a total of three people.
WARNING
Heavy parts can crush you.
Keep out from under and clear of heavy
parts at all times.
Install the Lifting Sling on the Accessory Gearbox and the
Accessory Gearbox on the Maintenance Stand.
Prepare the
accessory gearbox lifting sling by installing the shackle (3)
in the fourth hole (4) from the bar end (5) of the sling (1).
Insert the hook of the hoist (6) through the sling's shackle
(3) so you have the bar (5) on the left side of the engine.
Then, you must clean out the four holes (9) in the module (2),
remove the four bolts (7) from the eyebolts (8), and install
the eyebolts through the holes in the module.
Next install
the nuts on the eyebolts, tighten the nuts until you have them
about one inch up on the eyebolts, and take the slack out of
the sling cables (10) (fig. 1-26).
