Installing the Sling on the Accessory Gearbox.
Position the Accessory Gearbox under the Forward Engine Module
(2). To position the gearbox (1) correctly, you must use the
chain hoist on the maintenance stand.
To attach the chain
hoist (5), lower the hoist hook (3) until all four cables (4)
of the lifting sling have slack, unhook the hoist hook (3) and
attach the chain hoist hook (6).
Then raise the accessory
gearbox (1) enough so it moves under the forward module (2)
without hitting the engine air inlet (7).
Again, turn the
handle (8) on the maintenance stand clockwise unit the
accessory gearbox is under the forward engine module (fig.
1-28).
CAUTION
TO AVOID DAMAGE, MAKE SURE THE ACCESSORY GEARBOX
IS SQUARE WITH THE FORWARD MODULE AND THE SPLINES
ARE ALIGNED.
Mate the Accessory Gearbox with the Forward Engine Module.
Start this installation process by raising the accessory
gearbox (1) close to the splines on the forward engine module
(10) and turning the handle (8) on the
