Install the Accessory Gearbox to the Forward Engine Module.
NOTE:
When performing either of the two steps below, install the
retaining pins (6 or 7) on each side of the engine (2)
simultaneously (fig. 1-29).
Perform this step only if the outside flanges (3) have holes (4)
(fig. 1-29).
Push the two retaining pins (6) partly in the holes (8) and
insert the two lockpins through the holes (4) until they touch
the retaining pins.
Then lightly push the lockpins (9) and
push in on the retaining pins until the lockpins slide all the
way down in the grooves (10) (fig. l-29).
Perform this step only if the outside flanges (3) have bushings
(5) (fig. 1-29).
Push the two retaining pins (7) through the bushings (5), and
align the holes in the lockpins (11) with the holes (12) in
the bushing (13). Then push the two lockpins (14) all the way
through the holes (11 and 12).
After you have installed the retaining pins using the correct
step above, install the bolts (15) that secure the accessory
gearbox (1), torque them between 120 - 165 inch-pounds, and
safety wire the bolts.
Then hook the spring (16) to the
bracket (17), hook the two latches (18), raise the jack (19),
and install the two bolts (20) (fig. 1-29).
Remove the Accessory Gearbox Lifting Sling.
Lower the sling
(1) until you have the four cables (3) slack and remove the
four nuts (4) from the eyebolts (5). Then remove the eyebolts
from the accessory gearbox (2) and install the nuts. Remove
the lifting sling from the chain hoist, and stow the sling and
the eyebolts (fig. 1-30).
