M2/M3 BFV: TROUBLESHOOTING - OD1610 - LESSON 2/TASK 1
on page 3-605 of the TM, SGT Elliott finds that he is referred to page 3-657
of the TM.
Upon turning to this page, SGT Elliott finds that he is testing for either a
faulty turret distribution box or a defective cable 2W3. In the first box,
SGT Elliott is asked if he wants to check between plugs 2W3P1 and 2W3P2.
Since the answer to this question is yes, SGT Elliott will follow the yes
arrow to the next box of instructions. In the next box of instructions, he
is directed to perform test 2390 between plug 2W3P1 and lug 2W3P2.
Upon
completion of this test, he is asked if wiring harness 2W3 is good. Since
the answer is yes, SGT Elliott will follow the yes arrow to the next box of
instructions.
In the next box of instructions, he is directed to perform test 2390 between
jack 2W203J1 and plug 2W203J1 at diagnostic panel J4. Again, he is asked if
cable 2W203 is good.
Again the answer to this question is yes, so SGT
Elliott follows the yes arrow to the next box of instructions. In the next
box of instructions, SGT Elliott is directed to perform test number 2391 on
jack 2W203J1 at the diagnostic panel jack J4.
Since the answer to this
question is also yes, SGT Elliott moves to the next box where he is directed
to replace the turret distribution box.
The procedures for replacing the
turret
distribution
box
can
be
found
on
page
5-105
of
TM
9-2350-252-20-2-2.
Once the turret distribution box is replaced, SGT
Elliott repeats the troubleshooting procedures to verify that the
malfunction has been corrected and that no additional malfunctions exist.
In the above two examples for troubleshooting this particular malfunction,
we have seen two of the possible fault messages that could be received.
However, bear in mind that these are only two of the possible fault messages
and/or possible causes to this malfunction. When actually troubleshooting
on the vehicle, follow the responses that are received for each of the test
steps.
(2) TURRET POWER IS ON WITH THE TURRET POWER SWITCH OFF.
In this
troubleshooting procedure, we will follow only those troubleshooting
pathways that leads us to the conclusion that the relay box assembly is
faulty.
