Be sure to tag the plugs.
NOTE
The slipring assembly must be put on a workbench in the
same position the assembly was in when taken from the
turret.
Step 6.
Remove the slipring assembly from the turret floor and place onto a
workbench.
Step 7.
Rotate the upper half of the slipring 180 degrees.
Step 8.
Remove the plug from the slipring adapter.
WARNING
Hot parts can burn.
Be sure that the coupling, encoder,
and slipring are cool before starting work.
NOTE
To loosen the setscrews, a heat gun may be needed to melt
the sealant.
Step 9.
Locate setscrew on the coupling by looking through the plug hole on the
slipring adapter. Loosen the setscrew. Rotate the slipring adapter slowly until
the other setscrew is seen through the plug hole. Loosen setscrew one turn.
Step 10.
Remove four screws, lockwashers, washers, two retainers, and encoder
Step 11.
Loosen two setscrews on the encoder shaft and remove the coupling from
the shaft.
