(2) Batteries.
Two 12 volt batteries, connected in series, are located in a
battery box on the right sponson of the M113A1.
(3) Lights.
Mounted on the exterior front of the carrier are the service
headlights, two blackout marker lights, two infrared headlights, one blackout
headlight, and the horn. Two dome lights are mounted within the M113A1. Mounted
on the exterior rear of the carrier are the stoplight taillights and blackout
lights. Located within all carriers are light switches, horn switch, and infrared
powerpack.
(4) Radio Static Suppression.
Static suppression springs (installed in each
roadwheel) and ground straps with toothed washers are used to eliminate radio
(5) Front Main Wiring Harness.
The wiring harness interconnects with the
powerplant, rectifier, and right headlight wiring harnesses at the bulkhead to the
right of the driver. The wiring harness crosses over in front of the driver and
connects to the instrument panel, master switch panel, warning lights panel,
regulator, beam selecting switch, forward bilge pump, left headlights, and
distribution box.
(6) Right Headlight Wiring Harness.
The right headlight wiring harness
interconnects with the front main wiring harness and crosses over within the
powerplant compartment connecting to the right headlights.
(7) Rectifier Wiring Harness.
The rectifier wiring harness interconnects with
the main front wiring harness and supplies power to the rectifier.
(8) Infrared Powerpack Lead.
Power is supplied to the infrared powerpack by a
lead attached to the master switch panel.
(9) Powerplant Wiring Harness.
differential high oil temperature switch lead, transmission high oil temperature
switch, engine oil pressure switch, generator field switch, air box heater, engine
coolant temperature transmitter, and front main wiring harness.
