Introduction
Preventive maintenance is the systematic care, inspection, and servicing of
equipment to maintain it in serviceable condition, prevent breakdown, and assure
maximum operational readiness.
This section contains the procedures and
instructions necessary to perform quarterly (Q) preventive maintenance services.
These unit services are performed by unit maintenance personnel, with the
assistance of vehicle crews every 75 hours, 750 miles, or quarterly, whichever
occurs first. Armament and sighting materiel and basic issue items (BII) will be
given preventive maintenance services concurrently with the vehicle.
