MAINTENANCE OF THE M113 PER CARRIER - OD1601 LESSON 1/TASK 1
(3) Fuel and Transmission Control System (figure 5).
The hand throttle control
and fuel cutoff control are push-pull, flexible cable controls, which can be turned
to lock at any position. The handles mount in the driver's compartment. The fuel
cutoff cable attaches to the governor fuel cutoff lever, and the throttle cable
attaches to the accelerator pedal. The accelerator pedal transmits motion through
links and cross shaft to the governor throttle control lever and to the throttle
valve in the transmission. The linkage lever is in full throttle position when the
transmission throttle valve is in the detent position.
The range selector upper
control link and the transmission lower control link transmit motion of the range
selector shift lever to the transmission arm.
Linkage must be adjusted so the
shift position corresponds to the selected gear range in the transmission.
