The engine AFES fire detection system is the next system requiring testing.
Use Figure 44 and the following procedures to accomplish testing on the
engine fire detection system.
o Ensure all of the system components are connected.
o Set the MASTER switch to the OFF position.
o Turn the engine T/A panel MAINTenance switch to the vertical (power
off) position.
WARNING
If the T/A panel POWER ON lamp does not go out when
the T/A panel MAINTenance switch is turned to the
vertical position, disconnect the battery ground lead.
DO NOT CONTINUE TEST.
Troubleshoot AFES as shown in
TM 9-2350-267-20.

o Next, you must turn the engine T/A panel MAINTenance switch to the
horizontal (power on) position.
With the above steps accomplished, you can now proceed to perform the
testing of the engine fire detection system.
Use Figure 43 and the
following procedures to accomplish testing of the engine fire detection
system.
o Turn the MASTER switch ON and observe the engine T/A panel lights,
checking the following sequence:
- Green POWER ON light comes on immediately and stays lit.
