(c) Before stopping the engine, allow the engine to run at idle
speed with no load for at least four or five minutes, then turn the
key in the ignition switch to the OFF position to shut off the
engine.
(4) Operating the Forklift. Adjusting the Forks. To adjust the
forks, the operator must lift the end of the fork to disengage the
locking lug from the locking notch in the support (figure 26). Slide
the fork to the desired position and then lower the fork until the
lug is engaged into the desired notch.

(5) Picking Up the Load.
(a) With the engine running, operate the TILT control lever to
position the mast in a vertical position.
Then operate the LIFT
control lever to position the forks to the desired height.
