(1) The indicator was not mounted on earlier models.
Therefore,
it is important to ensure that these early vehicles are checked to
make sure that the indicator has been replaced. If it has, make sure
that the operator knows that it is installed on that particular
vehicle.
(2) When checking the indicator, GREEN indicates that the filter
element is clean.
YELLOW indicates that the filter is becoming
contaminated.
When the color is RED, the indication is that the
filter is being "by-passed" and needs to be changed or cleaned.
(3) Cleaning and Inspection.
(a) After the indicator is removed, clean all metal parts with
solvent.
(b) Inspect the mounting hardware for damage or excessive wear.
Then repair or replace all defective parts.
