forwarder clockwise, using the 14mm ratchet wrench, until the 19th round (figure 3,
view G, on the previous page) drops off the loading rail. Remove the 14mm ratchet
wrench.
Step 27.
Lock the upper roller by pushing the upper roller toward the forwarder.
Step 28.
Load the next group of rounds on the ammo belt into the can by counting
the next 25 rounds. Hang both the 24th and 25th rounds on the loading rail (figure
4, view H, on the following page).
Step 29.
Lift the ammo belt loops over the baffle by reaching under the first
loop of the ammo belt, through the front access door opening. Lift the first loop
up. Move the first loop to the left over the baffle. Lift the second loop over
the baffle by repeating the step.
Step 30.
Lift the ammo belt loops over the roller by reaching under the third
loop of the ammo belt, through the right access door opening. Lift the third loop
up, as shown in (figure 4, view I).
Move the third loop to the left over the
roller. Lift the fourth loop over the roller by repeating the step.
NOTE
The total number of rounds required during a reload depends
on the number of rounds left in the ammo can. There must
be a single empty link at end of the ammo belt.
Step 31.
Load the ammo belt until the ammo can is full by counting in groups of
25 (figure 4, view J).
Hang both the 24th and 25th rounds on the loading rail.
Continue to load the ammo belt until all 230 rounds are in the ammo can. Place a
single empty link under the last loop of the ammo belt.
Step 32.
Install the HE ammo can door and turn the handle.
Step 33.
Install the access door and turn the handle.
