M2/M3 BRADLEY FIGHTING VEHICLE: TURRET - OD1609 LESSON 1/TASK 2
Step 1.
Traverse the turret to the HE load position (2150 mils).
These
procedures, when needed, can be found on page 2-152 of TM 9-2350-252-10-2.
Step 2.
Set the turret travel lock.
These procedures, when needed, can be
found on page 2-141 of TM 9-2350-252-10-2.
Step 3.
Move the TURRET DRIVE SYSTEM switch to OFF.
Step 4.
Move the TURRET POWER switch to OFF.
Step 5.
Open the turret shield door.
These procedures, when needed, can be
found on page 2-139 of TM 9-2350-252-10-2.
Step 6.
Turn the handle and remove the 25mm ammo can door (figure 2, view A, on
the following page).
Step 7.
Turn the handle and remove the access door.
Step 8.
Clean the loading rails by wiping the rails with a clean cloth.
Step 9.
Turn the handle on the ammo can door and remove the HE ammo can door
(figure 2, view B).
Step 10.
Stow the squad seats.
These procedures, when needed, can be found in
TM 9-2350-252-10-1.
WARNING
A cartridge explosion
could kill or injure soldiers.
Handle ammo with care.
Do not bump primers against any
hard surface.
NOTE
Seven 25mm ammo boxes, AP or HE, can be stowed in the
infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) floor.
Eight 25mm ammo
boxes, AP or HE, can be stowed in the cavalry fighting
vehicle (CFV) floor.
