M2/M3 BRADLEY FIGHTING VEHICLE: TURRET - OD1609 LESSON 1/TASK 2
NOTE
The lower clutch override knob will come out about 1/4
inch, then go back in as each round is loaded.
Step 8.
Place a 14mm ratchet wrench on the lower feed shaft extension (figure
1, view B, on page 31). Turn the lower feed shaft extension to the right until the
lower clutch override knob goes in the second time.
Step 9.
Move the 14mm ratchet wrench to the HE ammo forwarder (figure 1, view
C).
Turn the HE ammo forwarder shaft slightly to the right, and lift the HE
release handle. Turn the HE ammo forwarder shaft to the left to take tension off
the HE ammo. Then, turn the HE ammo forwarder shaft to the right until the lower
clutch override knob is fully seated.
Step 10.
Push in the feed select solenoid knob to the AP position.
Step 11.
Put a 14mm ratchet wrench on the shaft of the AP ammo forwarder with
the wrench handle pointing down (figure 1, view D). Turn the AP forwarder shaft to
the left until the upper clutch override knob starts to come out. If the AP ammo
jams, do step 12. If the AP ammo does not jam, go to step 13.
NOTE
If the upper clutch override knob does not start to come
out, the operator would notify unit maintenance.
Step 12.
Put upward pressure on the 14.m ratchet wrench and turn the AP release
handle. Hold the AP release handle up while moving the 14mm ratchet wrench to the
straight down position. Let go of the AP release handle, and turn the AP forwarder
shaft to the right until the AP release handle pops back into place.
Repeat the
step above until the AP ammo is free from the 25mm gun feeder. Repeat step 11.
