M2/M3 BRADLEY FIGHTING VEHICLE: TURRET - OD1609 LESSON 1/TASK 2
WARNING
Accidental firing of the 25mm gun could kill or injure
soldiers.
Make sure that the manual safe handle is in
SAFE.
Step 3.
Check that the manual safe handle is in the SAFE position.
Step 4.
Manually elevate the 25mm gun to 200 mils.
These procedures, when
needed, can be found on page 2-439 of TM 9-2350-252-10-2.
CAUTION
25mm gun feeder can be damaged if the feed select solenoid
knob is not all the way in AP or HE position. Do not cycle
25mm gun feeder with the feed select solenoid knob part way
in AP or HE position.
Step 5.
Pull out feed select solenoid knob to HE position (figure 1, view B, on
the previous page).
Step 6.
Place a 14mm ratchet wrench on the shaft of the HE ammo forwarder with
the wrench handle pointing down (figure 1, view C).
Turn the HE ammo forwarder
shaft to the right until the lower clutch override knob starts to come out. If the
HE ammo jams, do step 7.
If the HE ammo does not jam, remove the 14mm ratchet
wrench and go to step 8.
NOTE
If the lower clutch override knob does not start to come
out, the operator would notify unit maintenance.
Step 7.
Apply upward pressure on the 14mm ratchet wrench and turn the HE
release handle to the right.
Hold the HE release handle up while turning the HE
ammo forwarder shaft to the left. Let go of the HE release handle and turn the HE
ammo forwarder shaft left until the HE release handle pops back into place. Repeat
this step until the HE ammo is free from the 25mm gun feeder. Repeat step 6.
