Maintenance of the Gun Elevation Drive Handwheel Drive Chain
This paragraph will cover the removal and installation of the gun elevation drive
handwheel drive chain.

Initial Setup.
(1)
Tools: Turret mechanic's tool kit.
(2)
Materials/Parts: Grease, sealing compound, roller chain, and self-locking
screw.
(3)
Personnel Required: Bradley fighting vehicle mechanic.

Equipment Conditions.
Engine stopped and turret shut down.

Procedural Steps for Removal of the
Gun Elevation Drive Handwheel Drive
Chain.
Step 1.
Remove the spring from the handwheel angle brackets (two locations), if
installed.
Step 2.
Move the TOW elevation drive select lever to the power position.

Step 3.
Manually depress the 25mm gun to maximum depression.

Move the gun elevation drive select lever to the power position.

NOTE
Cover may have two brackets installed.
One bracket must be
removed and discarded.
