THE BACKUP SIGHT ELEVATION LINKAGE ADJUSTMENT.
(a) Use an open end wrench to loosen the locknut on the crank
(figure 22).
(b) Make the elevation alignment of the backup sight reticle
crosshair with the target aiming point by adjusting the thumbscrews
on the crank until the reticle crosshair comes to the horizontal line
of the aiming point cross.
If the elevation adjustment cannot be
made by using the thumbscrews, troubleshooting procedures will have
to
be
performed
to
determine
the
cause
of
the
problem.
Troubleshooting procedures can be found, if needed, in TM 9-2350-252-
20-2-1, chapter 3.
(c) Once the elevation adjustment is complete and the reticle
crosshair is aligned with the horizontal line of the aiming point
cross, use the open end wrench to tighten the locknut on the crank.
(5) The horizontal adjustment is made next.
Loosen the
horizontal adjustment lock screw (figure 23 on the following page) by
turning it about one turn to the left. A 9/64 inch socket head key
wrench will be needed to loosen the lock screw.
(6) Use a 3/16 inch screw driver to turn the horizontal
adjustment screw (figure 23) until the aiming point image is centered
in the reticle crosshairs. Turning the horizontal adjustment
