THE BACKUP SIGHT HORIZONTAL ADJUSTMENT.
screw to the right moves the reticle to the right.
Turning the
horizontal adjustment screw to the left moves the reticle to the
left.
(7) When the aiming point image  is centered in the reticle
crosshairs, use the key wrench to tighten the horizontal adjustment
lock screw.
(8) After  tightening  the  horizontal  adjustment  lock  screw,
check the aiming point image.
It should be centered.
If it is
centered, the backup sight is correctly boresighted.
If it is not
centered, repeat the elevation linkage adjustment and the horizontal
adjustment described in paragraph 2b(4) through (7) above.
3.
Conclusion
It is important to keep the backup sight correctly boresighted since
it may be the only sighting device available to the crew in an
emergency.
The  next  task  will  describe  the  procedures  for
boresighting the night sight to the day sight in the ISU.
