f. Tripod/TU Backpack. The tripod/TU backpack provides protective cover for
the tripod and the TU, whether for storage, field transportation, or for evacuation
to the direct support unit for repair.
The tripod/TU backpack is a prefitted case for easy packing. It weighs 3.1 lbs.,
measures 11.0" X 12.0", and is 39.0" in height. When packed, the backpack weighs
26.4 lbs.
The backpack also provides storage for a spare battery.
It has quick-release
buckles to allow rapid packing/unpacking of the tripod/TU field assembly and the
spare battery. Figure 1-8
