(3) The operator receives the command to designate the target.
He receives
the command verbally or by the DMD radio data link.
(4) The operator then triggers the LD/R to produce a continuous laser pulse
train.
(5) The laser-seeking ordnance homes in on the reflected laser spot on the
target.
(6) Upon ordnance impact, the operator immediately releases the trigger.

Several pieces of auxiliary equipment provide increased versatility for the G/VLLD.
A description of these devices and their purpose follows.
a. Vehicle Power Cable. As previously discussed, the G/VLLD operates without
a battery by using power supplied by a vehicle.
Power comes from the vehicle
through a 25-foot cable and an electromagnetic (EMI) filter.
The vehicle power
cable mates with the vehicle adapter cable to fit on the exterior of most military
vehicles.
Figure 1-12 shows the vehicle power cable/EMI filter and the vehicle
adapter cable.
