The transmission is mounted cross-wise in the vehicle and at the rear
(flywheel end) of the engine.

Power is transmitted from the engine to the transmission through a
torque converter.
The torque converter is a fluid coupling and a
torque multiplier. The increased torque from the torque converter is
extended through selected planetary gears to the transmission output
shafts, The left and right output shafts then transmit the power to
the final drive assemblies. The final drive assemblies then turn the
drive sprockets which operate the left and right tracks.
This
