pressure on the outlet side of the pump becomes excessive due to a
clogged filter or fuel line.
A pressure of approximately 65 to 75
psi opens the relief valve allowing fuel to return to the suction
side through a passage in the pump body. The fuel pump mounts on the
flywheel housing and the fuel pump drives its gear at approximately
twice engine speed.
