Now you must turn the turret lock handle (1) to the locked
position (fig. 1-11).
NOTE:
You may have to traverse the turret slightly left or right for
the handle to drop into the detent when locking the turret.
At the driver's master panel (2), set the VEHICLE MASTER POWER
switch (3), personnel heater (5), night periscope (6), bilge
pump (7), smoke generator (8), lights (9), and engine tactical
idle (10) switches to the OFF position.
Then, set the
personnel heater switch (4) to the low position and the panel
lights control (11) to the maximum clockwise position (fig.
1-11).

At the driver's instrument panel (1), set the tank selector
switch (2) to rear and make sure you have
