At the commander's control panel (1), set the TURRET POWER
switch (2) and the VEHICLE MASTER switch (3) to the OFF
position and the panel lights control (4) to the maximum
clockwise position (full brightness). You also must make sure
you have the machine gun safety switch (5) in the safe
position (fig. 1-7).

At the gunner's station upper panel (1), set the defroster
switch (2) to the OFF position and the panel lights control to
maximum clockwise position.
Then, at the gunner's image
control unit (3), set the THERMAL MODE switch (4) to the OFF
position. Next, set the reticle control (6), on the gunner's
auxiliary sight panel (5), to the maximum counter- clockwise
position (fig. 1-8).
