Rear Metal Grilles.
Move the 5-ton capacity hoist to the rear of the tank, and
put the hoist's hook (8) in the clevis attached to the lift
hole marked TOP DECK on the sling (1)(fig. 1-2).
Position the sling over the top deck and attach the sling
to the top deck using the two sling hooks (5) in the rear
lifting eyes (6) and the single sling hook (3) in the front
lifting eye (4)(fig. 1-2).

With the help of two other soldiers to guide the top deck,
lift it from the tank and set it on the ground. With the
top deck safely on the ground, inspect it and the six hooks
and shoulder screws; replace any defective hooks or
shoulders screws.
