(1) Troubleshooting Procedure.
Step 1.
SGT Elliott checks the transmission range selector to
ensure that it is in neutral (N). Once this has been done, she will
proceed to step 2.
Step 2.
Now she places the ENGINE switch to the ON position and
checks the BATTERY gage to ensure that it reads 22 to 28 volts. Since
the gage indicated 25.5 volts, she proceeds to step 3,.
Step 3.
In this step she checks the voltage at the batteries. She
should receive a voltage indication of between 22 and 28 volts, which
she does (25.5 volts). Therefore, she will proceed to step 4.
Step 4.
SGT Elliott slides the rubber boots back and checks the
neutral safety switch (figure 26) for visible damage.
Since the
switch did not appear to be damaged, she moves on to the next step.
