STARTER MOTOR TESTING.
The procedures for replacing the starter motor are contained in the
following subparagraphs.
(2) Repair Procedures.
The procedures used by SGT Elliott to
remove and replace the starter motor will be discussed next. Prior to
beginning the actual maintenance procedure, she reads through the
Initial Setup section of the procedure to determine the necessary
tools, special equipment, and personnel that will be required to do
this task.
For this task, SGT Elliott will need only a mechanic's
general toolbox and an assistant (PVT Jones).
Additionally, the
battery cables should be disconnected prior to commencing any
maintenance.
After the necessary tools and equipment have been
gathered together and the disconnection made, following the procedures
contained in paragraph 7-91 of TM 9-2320-279-20-1, SGT Elliott and PVT
Jones are ready to begin the actual maintenance procedure.
