NOTE
Tag and mark starter motor cables and solenoid
wires before disconnecting.
SGT Elliott disconnects the starter motor cables and the solenoid
wires (1) (figure 29 on the previous page). When the cables and wires
have been removed, PVT Jones supports. the starter motor (2) (figure
30) while SGT Elliott removes the three screws (3) and lockwashers
(4). Now she removes the two screws (5), washers (6), spacer (7), and
the locknuts (8) from the starter end support bracket (9).

Elliott and PVT Jones now pull the starter motor forward to remove it
from the flywheel housing (10).
