GLOW PLUG SYSTEM SCHEMATIC.
Step 2. Refer to figure 9 and disconnect the engine wiring harness
connector from the glow plug controller.
Using a multimeter, check
the controller for the following:
(a) Continuity between pin 2 and pin 6.
(b) The resistance
between
pin
2
and
pin
3
should
be
approximately 0.5 Ohms.
(c) The resistance between pin 4 and pin 5 should be 27 Ohms.
(d) The resistance between pin 1 and pin 5 should be 130 Ohms.
Step 3. Using a multimeter, check for continuity between terminal 5
at the glow plug controller connector and ground. Repair the engine
wiring harness, following the procedures contained in paragraph 4-62
of the TM, if continuity is not present.
If the wiring harness is
beyond repair, notify IDS maintenance.
