finished, be sure to reconnect the control box cannon plug and the
negative battery cable.
Step 3.
Connect a 24 volt power source to lead 27 on the WAIT-TO-
START lamp and ground lead 571A. If the lamp does not light, replace
the lamp, following the procedures contained in paragraph 4-17 of the
TM.
If the lamp lights, replace the protective control box,
following the procedures contained in paragraph 4-5 of the TM.

Cold Start Advance System
While reading through these paragraphs concerning troubleshooting the
cold start advance system, refer back to figure 9 (on page 28).
Malfunction: COLD START ADVANCE DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY.
Step 1.
Remove the engine access cover following the procedures
contained in paragraph 10-15 of the TM.
Disconnect leads 569G and
569B from the cold advance switch.
Using a multimeter, check for
battery voltage at lead 569G with the rotary switch in the RUN
position.
If battery voltage is not present, repair the engine
wiring harness, following the procedures contained in paragraph 4-62
of the TM.
If the wiring harness cannot be repaired, notify IDS
maintenance.
Step 2.
Using
the multimeter, check for continuity through the lead 569B from the
injection pump to the cold advance switch.
If continuity is not
present, repair the engine wiring harness, following the procedures
in paragraph 4-62 of the TM. If the engine wiring harness cannot be
repaired, notify IDS maintenance.
Step 3. Using the
multimeter, check for continuity through the cold
is not present, replace the cold advance switch, following the
procedures in paragraph 4-27 of the TM. Check for continuity through
continuity is present, replace the cold advance switch, following the
procedures contained in paragraph 4-27 of the TM.
Reconnect lead
