(g) Close and partially open the valve on the analyzer three
times, and record the highest pressure reading each time. All three
readings must be 1300 psi or above. If the readings are not 1300 psi
contained in paragraph 8-18, page 8-42 of the TM.
(h) Open the valve on the analyzer and increase the engine
speed to 1500 rpm. Record the flow. If the flow varies more than 1
To replace the power steering pump, follow the procedures contained
in paragraph 8-18, page 8-42 of the TM.
(i) Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left then right
and record the flow at each stop. The flow should drop to 1 gpm or
less.
If the flow does not drop 1 gpm or less, notify IDS/IGS
maintenance to replace the steering gear.
(j) Push the brake pedal all the way to the floor and hold it
there. The flow rate should drop to 1 gpm or less. If it does not,
replace the hydro-boost following the procedures contained in
paragraph 7-12, page 7-26 of the TM.
(k) Turn the steering wheel slightly to the left or right, and

pressure gage should snap back quickly. If the pressure gage returns
slowly, notify IDS/IGS maintenance to replace the steering gear.
(l) Push the brake pedal down and release it quickly while
watching the pressure gage.
The pressure gage should snap back
quickly.
If the pressure gage returns slowly, replace the hydro-
boost following the procedures contained in paragraph 7-12, page 7-26
of the TM. Connect the harness connector to the fan clutch solenoid.
Step 7.
If the cause of the malfunction
has
still
not
been
determined, notify IDS/IGS maintenance.
