e. At this point in our discussion we have developed the two basic types of
stator windings, and have shown how three separate complete cycles of AC voltage
spaced 120 apart are developed for each complete revolution of the rotor. We now
turn to the diode and will see how six diodes connected to the stator winding
change the three AC voltages to a single DC voltage needed for the DC electrical
system.
