TEST CONNECTIONS.

Ether Start System Troubleshooting. In the following paragraphs

we will follow SGT Ritz as he troubleshoots the ether start system

for the the malfunction ENGINE CRANKS BUT WILL NOT START (FUEL

AVAILABLE) and reaches the conclusion that the ether valve is

defective and needs to be replaced.

Prior to beginning the troubleshooting procedure, the first thing

that SGT Ritz does is to read DA Form 2404 and talk with the

operator. SGT Ritz then reads through the troubleshooting procedures

to determine the necessary tools and special equipment necessary to

perform this task. For this particular troubleshooting task he will

need a mechanic's general toolbox and a multimeter.

After SGT Ritz

has gathered the necessary tools and equipment, he configures the

vehicle according to the items listed in paragraphs 3a(1) thru 3a(5)

on page 34 of this task. SGT Ritz is now ready to begin the actual

troubleshooting procedures.
