Step 2. To test the flasher harness continuity, SGT Nertney sets the
multimeter to RX1 and connects the positive meter lead to terminal A
of the flasher unit.
The negative meter lead is then connected to
He observes the meter for a
He connects the negative meter lead to
terminal F of the control unit socket and the positive meter lead to
terminal B of the flasher unit.
Again he observes the meter for a
continuity indication. Finally, he connects the positive meter lead
to terminal C of the flasher unit connector and the negative meter
lead to ground.
These connections are all illustrated in figure 24 (on
the following page). Since continuity was indicated for all circuits
and the turn signals still do not operate, the flasher is defective
and needs to be replaced.
